“BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD” PSALM 46:10 Dear Parishioners, definitely this is tough time: we are all together in this, we have to choose to be self-sacrificial rather than to be selfish. This crisis has provided an opportunity for us to do small, concrete gestures to loved ones, such as a caress for our grandparents, a kiss for our children, for the people we love...even if it is through the window to avoid contact. These are very important and decisive gestures that make good the days of quarantine and lock-down we are all going through. Let us discover a new closeness. More concrete relationships are made of attention and patience. We do not need to feel lonely and isolated but open the soul to love and encourage one another and practice compassion and sharing with one who may lack some basic needs in the neighborhoods. The concrete gestures should open us up to stay close to those whose plans, programs, life-routines, jobs and relationships have suddenly changed unfavorably. We have got to be close to them in every possible way. Consolation and encouragement should be everyone's commitment. This may be also time for family meetings, talks and discussions, a time for little family retreats, prayers, especially reciting the Holy Rosary and reading the scriptures together as a family, and talking about faith in God. I want you to know that I am missing, praying, and thinking about each one of you during this challenging time. I am praying and looking forward to seeing you in person when Masses begin again. I encourage you to send your prayer intentions which I will offer to God in Masses I celebrate everyday alone for our community needs, the needs of the entire church and humanity. We appreciate and want to thank you for supporting the Church always. We thank God for you and pray that He continues to bless you. Your generous donations and mass offerings keep this parish running. Now in the event that we are going through this crisis, the Parish need your support more than ever. We would like to ask you to continue supporting our Parish by signing up for online giving, or sending your check to the Parish by post. Amidst this difficult time, prayer, faith, kindness, patience, calmness, unity, generous support and encouragement are our strength that will take us through and we shall survive this tough time together, for God still loves us; He has not forgotten us. He is working behind scenes and he will bring to an end this situation.
A Prayer in Time of Corona-Virus Almighty and All–loving God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we pray to you through Christ the Healer for those who suffer from the Coronavirus Covid–19 in America and across the world.
We pray too for all who reach out to those who mourn the loss of each and every person who has died as a result of contracting the disease.
Give wisdom to policymakers, skill to healthcare professionals and researchers, comfort to everyone in distress and a sense of calm to us all in these days of uncertainty and distress.
This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord who showed compassion to the outcast, acceptance to the rejected and love to those to whom no love was shown. Amen.
